cottonwoods

public art

Cottonwoods is a public artwork of seven, 24-foot tall weathering steel sculptures. 5/8” steel plate is precisely cut with lace-like canopy pattern and folded into structural and symbolic forms. The pieces are arranged around a walkable water scrim feature. The work is the focal point and principle gathering place of the Boise City Hall Plaza. A public, place-making artwork, it makes clear the necessary and powerful relationship between place and civics.
